About RunIndia
A reference site for runners in India, not a motivation blog.
Why this exists
Almost every running resource on the internet is written for somewhere else. The pace charts assume miles, the training plans assume you can choose any hour of the day, and the hydration advice assumes a climate in which sweat evaporates. None of that describes a runner in Delhi in December or Chennai in May.
RunIndia publishes the same core arithmetic every runner needs — pace, splits, predictions, plans — with the formula printed rather than hidden, and then adds the two things that actually govern training here: heat and air quality. The route pages cover the cities whose running places are genuinely well known, and stop there rather than inventing more.
What it will not do
Publish a race date it cannot guarantee. Invent a park to fill out a city page. Ask for an email address before showing you a training plan. Present a prediction as a promise.
Who runs it
RunIndia is built and maintained by Amit Sharma, a marketer based in Auckland, New Zealand, alongside a family of free data tools published at amit.marketing. I am not a coach or a physiologist, which is exactly why this site sticks to published formulas, states its sources, and points at the limits of what it can tell you.
How it is funded
Advertising, through Google AdSense, and links to my own fitness challenge at PeakForm. Nothing here is a paid placement, no race is listed because someone asked, and no number has ever been adjusted to suit an advertiser.
Corrections
If a route has closed, a race has stopped running, or a formula is misapplied, tell me and it gets fixed on the next build. Corrections are prioritised over new pages.
