The routes

Heat, air and when to actually go out

Climate. Very hot from March to June — daytime running is genuinely unsafe at the peak of summer. November to February is excellent.

Air quality. Moderate for most of the year, with dust the main problem. Winter mornings can be hazy.

The timing advice for Ahmedabad — 05:30–07:00 in winter, before 06:00 in summer. evening running along the riverfront is popular after 19:00. — is not a preference, it is the difference between a session that helps and one that costs you two days. Running moves several times more air through your lungs than sitting does, so a bad-air morning is a disproportionately bad time to train hard outdoors. The air quality guide sets out what each CPCB band means for a runner, and running in Indian heat covers what humidity does to your pace.
